I wonder if the...Your first example is a good one. I wonder if there is a bit of inconsistency in how you describe the second example. If I'm planning on blowing something off I wouldn't get very emotional one way or the other, if other people also blew off that same task. Yet you describe the second situation as one where tensions were high. Doesn't that show the people actually cared about the outcome?
